Stress Notifications Aren’t Arriving

Apple Watch notifications don’t always appear instantly. Small delays, silent delivery, or alerts being grouped under the red notification dot can happen from time to time—and that’s normal behavior on watchOS.

However, if stress data is updating correctly in Welldo but alerts never arrive, something may be preventing notifications from being delivered.

Let’s walk through what to check.

First, confirm the basics

Make sure Welldo is installed on both your iPhone and Apple Watch

Open the app on both devices at least once to ensure it’s running properly

Missing the watch app?

Open the iPhone Watch app and reinstall Welldo from there.

If the watch app won’t install or stress data doesn’t appear at all, this points to a setup or permission issue rather than notifications.

Notification checklist

1. iPhone system permissions

On your iPhone, go to:

Settings → Welldo → Notifications

Make sure notifications are allowed and not restricted.

2. In-app notification controls

Open Welldo on your iPhone, then:

Settings → Notifications

Ensure stress alerts and related notifications are switched on.

3. Background activity on iPhone

Welldo needs limited background access to sync health data.

Go to:

Settings → Apps → Welldo → Background App Refresh → Turn it on

If this option is unavailable, check:

Settings → General → Background App Refresh and enable it system-wide.

Welldo uses this feature lightly and is designed to be battery-friendly.

4.Background activity on Apple Watch

On your Apple Watch, open:

Settings → General → Background App Refresh

• Enable it globally

• Confirm Welldo is listed and active

5. Check for modes that silence alerts

Notifications may be muted if either device is in:

• Low Power Mode

• Sleep Mode

• Focus / Do Not Disturb

• Theater Mode

Make sure none of these are active when expecting alerts.

Still not working?

If everything looks correct but alerts still don’t show up:

• Restart your Apple Watch

• Reinstall Welldo on both devices

This often resolves sync or notification issues, especially on newer watchOS versions.
